About ESO

ESO focuses on economic and fiscal challenges. Its work is led by Chair Johan Almenberg. The other board members represent a range of disciplines within the social sciences and public administration. Three experts are also affiliated with the board. They participate in meetings but do not have voting rights.

The board is responsible for ESO’s activities and sets its direction. It prioritises areas of study and decides which studies to undertake and publish in ESO’s publication series.

The secretariat handles day-to-day operations. It consists of a head of office, an assistant and secretaries. The secretariat recruits authorsand supports them in the writing process. The secretariat also helps suggest areas for study and develop project plans.
